British Association for Music Therapy

BAMT is the professional body for music therapists and a source of information, support and involvement for the general public.  You can search their site for music therapists in your area.

Health Care Professions Council

This is the organisation that regulates music therapists, as well as other professions such as speech and language therapists and physiotherapists. They set the standards that UK music therapists have to meet to practise.

Music therapists in the UK must be registered with the HCPC, and you can check the register on their website.

Music Therapy at Queen Margaret University

Queen Margaret University provide the only music therapy training in Scotland.

Scottish Music and Health Network

This Network is a collaboration between Edinburgh and Glasgow Caledonian Universities. It supports research on the links between music and health by facilitating communication between researchers and through a programme of events.
